Assistant Principals Office
Dr. Javier-Watson comes to us from St. Francis Catholic High School in Sacramento, where he has served as Assistant Principal the last four years. He began his career in education in 2005 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as a secondary school Spanish teacher and Assistant Football Coach. Later, he worked in underserved communities in New Jersey, where he founded an elementary school and established a school culture of high achievement and high support in underserved communities. After earning his doctorate in Reading/Writing/Literacy from the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Javier-Watson served as an Adjunct Professor for both the University of Pennsylvania and Villanova University. His focus on academic study and school campus program implementation includes supporting the social and emotional needs of students, literacy programs to serve underperforming and socially disadvantaged students, and leadership training for staff. Prior to earning his Doctor of Education, he earned his Master of Science from the University of Pennsylvania and his Bachelors of Arts from the University of Kansas.

Dr. Crystal Grooms began her teaching career at Rio Linda High School, where she taught Science and Agriculture for 8 years. She then served as CTE coordinator for the Woodland Joint Unified School District. She has both a Bachelors and Masters in Education from UC Davis and a doctorate in Education Leadership and Management from Drexel University. She has a passion for Career Technical Education. She is a lifelong learner and has a desire to ensure all students are given the opportunities and tools they need to be successful in their life's journey. She has one young daughter that keeps her busy.

Mrs. Holton began her teaching career in 2000 in the Grant Joint Union High School District. She joined Folsom Cordova seven years later as a teacher at Mills Middle School before moving to Folsom High. Mrs. Holton has 18 years of classroom teaching experience and has served in various leadership capacities, such as division lead, activities director, curriculum coach, and a mentor to new teachers. Mrs. Holton currently holds both a multiple subject and single subject in English credentials. She obtained her National Board Teaching Certification in 2012. She then pursued her administrative credential in 2017. She began her transition to Vista del Lago High School in 2018 as a part-time assistant principal--a position that she shared with Folsom High School. Since then, she has been a full-time assistant principal at Vista del Lago and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team. In addition to her passion for learning, Mrs. Holton loves spending time with her family. She has four daughters that keep her on her toes and in touch with the support and needs of our students. Mrs. Holton is active, energetic, and has a positive energy that others are drawn to.
