Meet our Principal

Mr. Leonhardt

Mr. Leonhardt brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to student success. He began his educational career in 2005 in the Grant Union High School District, where he served as a high school math teacher, coach, department chair, and WASC coordinator. After a decade in the district, he joined Folsom Cordova as a math teacher at Vista del Lago High School. During his time at Vista del Lago HS, he also served as intervention coordinator, led the development and implementation of the intervention period, coached baseball, and was the Math Department Division Leader.

Most recently, Mr. Leonhardt has spent the past five years as an Assistant Principal at Ponderosa High School. There, he focused on supporting staff and students, creating an intervention period, and strengthening the school’s professional learning community.

Known for his collaborative leadership and positive presence on campus, Mr. Leonhardt is passionate about ensuring that every student receives a high-quality education. He is dedicated to fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where all students can thrive.

"I am honored and excited to return home to Vista del Lago," said Mr. Leonhardt. "My goal is to continue the outstanding work that has been taking place for the past 18 years and to build upon the strong culture that makes Vista such a special place for students, families, and staff."

Mr. Leonhardt holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Valparaiso University and a Master of Science in Educational Administration from National University.
