Sacramento Suburban Writer Club Scholarship $1,000

The club is offering a $1000 scholarship for the best short story or essay submitted by a senior high school student in the Sacramento area.

Scholarship Details:

  • Award: $1000 towards the student's college fees and publication of the winning entry in the Suburban Scribe, the club's newsletter.
  • Eligibility: Senior high school students planning to attend college in 2025.
  • Submission Requirements:
    • An original, unpublished short story or essay (2000-3000 words).
    • Submission in Microsoft Word or PDF format.
    • Email entry to scholarship@sactowriters.org with the subject line "SCHOLARSHIP ENTRY."
    • Include a cover page with the student's name, email address, your name, the high school, and a short statement about the student's interest in writing and what winning this scholarship would mean to them.

Important Dates:

  • Submission Deadline: April 18, 2025.
  • Awards Banquet: May 12, 2025, where the winner will be announced.

Schwab-Rosenhouse Memorial Scholarship $1,000-$5,000

The Schwab-Rosenhouse Memorial Scholarship supports graduating high school seniors from the greater Sacramento region by providing financial assistance for post-secondary education. The scholarship evaluates candidates based on academic achievements, community involvement, and future education and career plans.

Scholarship Details:

  • Awards range from $1,000 to $5,000 per year.

Eligibility:

  • Graduating high school seniors.
  • Must have lived in El Dorado, Placer, Yolo, or Sacramento County, California for at least two years prior to the time of application.
  • Must meet California State residency requirements.
  • Evaluation based on academic record, school and community activities, volunteer activities, and other personal circumstances.
  • Responses to questions about future education and career plans are also important.

Submission Requirement:

  • Complete the application form.

Deadline:

  • Interested seniors must submit their application by February 7, 2025.

The Jaycees are an international organization of young men and women, ages 18 to 39, providing opportunities for others to develop their personal skills, advance their business careers, and provide leadership in their communities. The Jaycees have made a positive impact on communities worldwide since 1920.

Scholarship Details:

  • For graduating high school seniors who plan to continue their education at accredited postsecondary colleges, universities, or vocational schools.

Eligibility:

  • Graduating high school seniors in the State of California.

Award Amount:

  • $1,000 grants. The number of scholarships awarded varies from year to year.

Submission Process:

  • Complete the application and checklist available on the California Jaycee Foundation website.

Deadline:

  • Applications must be postmarked by January 17, 2025.

Check out this list of scholarship opportunities available for the 2025 scholarship season. To apply, sign up for an account with your email and password, complete a general application, and the system will recommend eligible scholarships.

Application Requirements:

  1. Transcript: Upload your most recent transcript as a PDF.
  2. References: One or two references required, depending on the scholarship.
  3. Submit FAFSA/CADAA: Provide a Submission Summary. Many Scholarships are financial need based.
  4. Essays: Most scholarships require an essay.

Important Dates:

  • December 2, 2024: Applications open online.
  • March 14, 2025: Final deadline for scholarship submission.
  • March 28, 2025: Final deadline for references.
